Niassa Province is one of Mozambique’s poorest and most remote provinces, and the indigenous peoples living there are forced to over utilize their natural environment’s resources to survive. We can curtail the need for illegal practices harmful to Mozambique’s breathtaking environment by creating employment opportunities in conservation roles. Government-certified game scouts provide a crucial role in monitoring and protecting the rare flora and fauna from illegal practices such as poaching animals and illegal harvesting of hardwood trees.

MCO also helps to create new opportunities by creating jobs in its ongoing education and rural development projects. These initiatives have given rise to an ongoing need for a local workforce in roles such as teaching, administration, maintenance and construction.
